REV. AUDREY WIGGINS
The Reverend Audrey C. Wiggins serves the Director of Christian Education at Leesburg Presbyterian Church (LPC) in Leesburg, VA. In her position, she provides direction and supervision for the Christian Education ministry at LPC having oversight for the Church School, Vacation Bible School, Adult Education, Wednesday MANNA lecture series, childcare provider staff and the worship ministries involving the children and youth (i.e. acolytes, children’s church, etc). While employed at Leesburg Presbyterian Church, Reverend Wiggins maintains her membership at Covenant Baptist United Church of Christ in Washington, DC under the leadership of co-pastors Rev. Dr. Dennis W. Wiley and Rev. Dr. Christine Y. Wiley and is a part of the ministerial team.
Before accepting the call to LPC, Rev. Wiggins was engaged in ministry at Covenant serving in several areas. Audrey served as the Minister of Christian Education, Discipleship Training teacher and ministerial team leader. Rev. Wiggins’ passion is Christian education and she continues to live out her call to ministry as a Christian Educator.
Prior to joining Covenant, Rev. Wiggins served as an associate minister at First Baptist Church of Vienna in Vienna, VA. in the position of Director of Christian Education under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Kenny Smith. Before her tenure as Director of Christian Education, Rev. Wiggins served in various leadership positions—Church School teacher, the Epistle staff (church newsletter), Church treasurer and others. She was licensed to preach the Gospel on April 7, 2002, by First Baptist Church of Vienna, VA. Rev. Wiggins was called to Covenant Baptist Church in August 2006 in the position of Minister of Christian Education. She was ordained on November 10, 2007 by Covenant Baptist Church and joined the fellowship of ordained ministers in the American Baptist Churches USA. In December 2010, Rev. Wiggins became a minister in Full Standing in the United Church of Christ after Covenant Baptist Church was received into the United Church of Christ denomination.
Currently, Rev. Wiggins is a doctoral student at The Catholic University of America (CUA) pursuing a Ph.D. in Systematic Theology. Rev. Wiggins provides leadership at CUA serving as the area representative for the Historical and Systematic Theology Department on the School of Theology and Religious Studies Student Association (STRSSA) board. Additionally, Audrey is a teaching assistant at CUA and Wesley Theological Seminary. Audrey C. Wiggins graduated with honors from Wesley Theological Seminary (Washington, DC) in 2004 with a Master of Divinity degree. She has earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science in 1993 from the University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) in Huntsville, AL graduating magna cum laude.
Rev. Wiggins is also involved in community affairs. She serves as president of Board of Directors of the MTXE Foundation and a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc serving locally in the Lambda Kappa Omega Chapter. She also served as the Wesley Theological Seminary student representative to the Washington Theological Consortium.
Audrey has two teen-aged children, Micaiah Denae and Marcellus Kinley and enjoys being team mom for their athletic teams.
Rev. Wiggins believes that success is being in the will of God and lives by this scripture, “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you” –Matt. 6:33
